The Life Cycle of a Book Worm

Just like the rest of the members in the animal kingdom, Book worms go through different stages throughout their lives. Not all bookworms are the same but their lives can be generalized into 6 phases.

  1. Birth. Enough said.

  1. The next stage usually is marked by the reading of the book worm’s chapter book.

Now between these two stages there are multiple things that must happen. The worm must both learn how to read and get a library card. You see the library card is a right of passage (of sorts). It is the backbone of all Bookworms. Without it you can not call yourself a book lover.

3. The 3rd stage usually takes place within the 10th or 12th year of living and truly doesn't end until death. It is “the-world-of-books-is-so-dang-big-phase”. This is where the worm realizes that there are so many books out there, and feeling small, they begin to create a list of all the books they want to read. Little do they know that such list is a trap. A bottomless pit of recommendations and Goodreads reviews. The number one goal in all book lover's lives is to get to the bottom of this list. But...well, you know.

4. Starting when you are around 30 and ending somewhere near the end of your life, we have the adult stage. This is one of the most depressing stages for a true book worm, because it is the stage where you read the least. Book worm’s lives are full of the poor humans, of which are usually the bane of their existence. The humans provide distractions for the worms and, while they would love to be snuggled in a big couch with a book, they have to go out into the world and make money. Sure, most of the money goes towards buying more books, but few of them are ever read. Some even go as far as just watching the movie adaptation. This is a rare case, but is the frightening truth.

5. The highlight of a Bookworms journey is this stage. It is the stage when they are no longer ridiculed for being in a book club. They have ample time to read and write. And probably have no idea how to work a movie player (out of sight out of mind).

6. Death. In a room full of books. Probably reading and drinking tea.

Shout out to Emily for letting me add to her marvelous blog. I hope you guys liked this and can relate. My name is Lily, and I’ll talk to you guys later. Bye!!
